Firefox: the last private window matters

Safari: switching away may leave private tabs open
Safari deserves special caution on iPhone and iPad. Apple's Private Browsing guidance says that switching to another tab group can leave private websites open; the private tabs can reappear when you return. On supported systems, private tabs may be locked behind Face ID, Touch ID, a passcode, or a password rather than closed.
A locked private tab is protected from casual access, but it is not the same thing as a deleted tab or a destroyed storage session. If deletion is the goal, explicitly close the private tabs and verify the app no longer shows the history in a new private session.

3. Start a genuinely new private session
Open a new private window, return to the AI app, and check whether the prior chat appears. This is the most direct user-level test of whether the browser-local working copy survived.
If it reappears, investigate account sync, another still-open private context, persistent extension storage, or an app-specific storage design before entering more sensitive content.
4. Audit artifacts outside the session
